After a long winter, the arrival of Spring makes us all want to break into song. The Trumbull High School choirs are getting ready to do just that on Wednesday, May 21 when they will present their annual Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m., in the Trumbull High School auditorium, 72 Strobel Road. Tickets are $5 each, available at the door.

Varied musical selections will include works by Carl Orff, Felix Mendelssohn, and Anton Bruckner to name a few; the U.S. premiere of a piece written by Trumbull High graduate, Ben McCormack; spirituals, madrigals, gospel selections and more. The Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, the Freshman Chorus, the Women’s Ensemble and the Men’s Ensemble will perform. Choir Director Anne Tornillo will conduct the five choral groups, consisting of more than 200 students.

The evening will conclude, as it always does, with Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, an annual tradition at Trumbull High when all the choral groups combine on stage, joined by chorus alumni from the audience.
