Trumbull Community Women has announced plans to award one $2,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Trumbull. The recipient will be chosen based on their dedication, time and effort volunteering in Trumbull or surrounding communities.  Also to be taken into consideration will be the demonstration of leadership in said community service activities, and the submission of an essay not to exceed 500 words.

Applications are available through high school guidance departments, or the Trumbull Community Women website: trumbullcommunitywomen.org.

All completed applications must be postmarked by April 15, and mailed to: TCW Scholarships, PO Box 168, Trumbull, CT 06611.

Trumbull Community Women is a volunteer community service organization which in the past 10 years has awarded over $20,000 in awards and scholarships to deserving high school graduates. The group has been in existence for the last 45 years — formerly as the Trumbull Junior Women’s Club — and has served Trumbull and surrounding communities with projects such as Tidy Up Trumbull, Trumbull Arts Festival Children’s Art tent, as well as numerous projects through Trumbull Social Services, Fuel Bank and Food Bank. The group hopes to partner with the THS Scholarship Foundation and the Trumbull Chamber of Commerce to sponsor the annual Great Pumpkin Classic, a fall scholarship fundraising event.
