The Sound Tigers Summer Reading game will be Saturday, Oct. 21.

There will be a PTA meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Come and hear about the exciting events being planned for your children.

The Spooktacular Trunk or Treat will be Friday, Oct. 27. Tickets are now available for purchase. This is a fun event for the students. Also, consider registering to decorate your trunk for this event.

The Book Fair will be held from November 8-10.

Frenchtown School
The KINDNESS Club is collecting new pairs of socks to donate to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission to help those in need during Socktober.

Read Aloud Day is Thursday, Oct. 26. Each class will have a guest reader come to their class. Fourth grade will be on a field trip — guest readers will be scheduled on an alternate day.

Our PTA Halloween Spooktacular Party will be held on Friday, Oct. 27. Flyers were sent home. There are two sessions 5:30-7 p.m., and 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, Oct. 20.

Monday, Oct. 30 and Thursday,  Nov. 2, will be legal day dismissals at 1 p.m., for afternoon conferences. Wednesday,  Nov. 8, will also be a legal day dismissal at 1 p.m., but for evening conferences. No lunch will be served on all three dates. Conferences are by appointment only and sign-ups are online.

The Frenchtown Fathers’ Club will be holding their first Parents Night Out on Saturday  Nov. 4. They will start with an exclusive showing of Bad Mom Xmas at Bow Tie Cinemas at 5 p.m., followed by an evening of food and fun at InSports from 7-10 p.m. A flyer with additional information will be sent home soon.

Frenchtown is once again enrolled in the Stop and Shop A+ program which began Oct. 6, and runs through March 15, 2018. Frenchtown’s ID # is 06238. You can register your card now with your 13-digit Stop & Shop card number found on the back of the card. Visit stopandshop.com/aplus and select register your card, located in the red box on the right. Follow the prompts to complete the registration.

We are collecting Box Tops for Education. Please send in your box stops to earn money for Frenchtown.

We are enrolled in the ShopRite for Education program. Our school code is 49972 and we earn points towards free educational equipment. The program runs until April 26, 2018. Enroll at shopriteforeducation.com  Shoppers must renew their registrations each year. Local ShopRite’s that participate are in Bristol, East Haven, Hamden, Manchester, Milford, Orange, Stratford, Wallingford and West Haven.
Middlebrook School
The Trumbull Rotary invites volunteers to participate in the 2017-2018 Trumbull Read Aloud Days. This year, Trumbull Read Aloud will take place at Middlebrook Elementary School on Thursday, Oct. 26. The school invites community and family volunteers to join us as one of our volunteer readers. If you are able to share your time with our students on one or more days, please complete the Read Aloud registration form, available in the school office. Volunteers must also complete both pages of the TPS School Volunteer Security Check form, also available in the school office. Mail, fax, or e-mail the volunteer form to Cathy Bostley at 6254 Main St., Trumbull. Your Read Aloud registration will be complete when both the registration and Volunteer Security Check form are received. Feel free to contact cbostley@trumbullps.org with any questions.

The Middlebrook Father’s Club will host its annual Zombiebrook Halloween Party – featuring crafts and games and the always popular “haunted hallway” on Friday, Oct. 27. Students and their families in kindergarten to grade 2 may attend from 5:30-7 p.m. Students and families in grades 3-5 will enjoy a scarier experience from 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets for PTA members are $5/person (max $20/family); non-members are $6/person, with no maximum.
