Jump Rope for Heart
Daniels Farm School raised the most money in Connecticut for the 2014-15 Jump Rope for Heart annual event. Coordinated by Daniels Farm physical education teacher, Michael Cavallaro, DFS students raised a total of $33, 805.

Following close behind at number two was Booth Hill School, under the efforts of PE teacher Ginny Girouard.  Booth Hill School raised  a total of $27,099.


Sacred Heart Academy
Sacred Heart Academy chapter of the Science National Honor Society (SNHS) recently inducted 20 new members, including Trumbull resident Kaitlin Nealon, class of 2016.


Frenchtown School
The first District Wide Cultural Diversity Committee meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

Our first Donuts with Dads meeting with Mrs. Norcel will be at 7 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 9.

No school Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of Columbus Day.

Visitation Days are in the morning on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and Friday, Oct. 16 in the afternoon. We eblasted information regarding visitation and teachers will send out their invitations this week.

Every Tuesday will be Spirit Day.  Students and staff will wear blue and white, Frenchtown spirit wear or a shirt with a Wolf on it. The last Tuesday of every month is Citizenship Day when students and staff wear red, white and blue.

Photo retake day Thursday, Nov. 12.  Students that were absent will have their photos taken that day.  More information will be sent home closer to the retake day if you are interested in having your child’s photo retaken.

Jane Ryan School
Volunteers are needed for Jane Ryan’s Pumpkin Fair.   Every adult volunteer will get a book of 20 games tickets and either a ticket for a raffle for a $100 Visa gift card or 20 additional tickets for each subsequent shift.  The link to sign up is http://pta.ivolunteer.com/jrpumpkinfair_2015.  Teens needing service hours are welcome too!

The Kids Offering Our Love (KOOL) clothing drive will be October 13-16.  Drop off any clothes in the Jane Ryan foyer by 3 p.m., on the 16th.  Keep a lookout for volunteer opportunities for folding and delivery on Oct. 19.  Any questions regarding KOOL events, contact Anne Marie Martini.

Jane Ryan is collecting items to be sent to military men and women overseas through the Blue Star Moms in Stratford.  Donations can be dropped off in any classroom beginning October 21.  If any family has a loved one currently serving, a care package can be sent to him/her if you can provide Jane Ryan with an address.  Contact Mrs. DeCesare or Mrs. Ferrari.  A list of needed items appeared in the Jane Ryan newsletter.

After School Enrichment – Please remember to fill out your child’s weekly attendance form.  This form must be sent in every week for your child to be dismissed to ASE instead of their normal dismissal procedure.

Wellness update: This week we will be kicking off the Tashua running club. We will be using the sneaker sheets as we did last year for you to complete at home as your children complete miles. Collection of these sheets will be the last Friday of each month. For each sheet turned in, a cute foot charm will be given to the runner/ Walker. Please note this is a voluntary program that is for fun and wellness at home. Additional sheets for upcoming months can be printed off our Tashua website. Questions about the running club/ sneaker sheets can be directed to Christie McKenzie.
