Afternoon conferences will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Students will be dismissed early that

day at 1 p.m. Lunch will not be served. Evening conferences with be held on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fourth graders will be taking a field trip to Eli Whitney on Thursday, Nov. 12.

On Friday, Nov. 13, the Trumbull Rotary will visit the third grade to distribute dictionaries!

The Father’s Club is presenting a private screening of Star Wars VII on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 9:15 a.m. That’s the day after opening night. Tickets are $8 and kid’s combos are $7. Frenchtown School
Votes were cast for Student Council Officers on Monday, Nov. 2 by students in grades 1-5. Winners will be announced next week.

Thursday, Nov. 5 and Tuesday, Nov. 10 are legal day dismissals for students for Parent Teacher Conferences by appointment only. Students will be released at 1pm. Lunch will not be served. There are also evening conferences scheduled for Thursday, November 12, again by appointment.

Photo retake day is Thursday, Nov. 12. Students that were absent or who are new to the school since October 1 will have their photos taken that day. In order for your child's photo to be retaken they must bring back the package that was purchased excluding the class photo.

Friday, Nov. 13 is Frenchtown Family Night at the Trumbull High School football game. More details will be sent home.

All spirit wear orders are due the same day.

Every Tuesday will be Spirit Day. Students and staff will wear blue and white, Frenchtown spirit wear or a shirt with a Wolf on it. The last Tuesday of every month is Citizenship Day when students and staff wear red, white and blue.

Rewards Program — Frenchtown will once again be participating in the Stop and Shop A+ Program! Our school ID is 06238. Earn points while you shop that will equate back to dollars for our school!  You can contact Mrs. Weiss in the Main Office to input your number for you.

We are collecting Box Tops for Education. Don't forget to send them in.

If you have a Target credit card you can link it to Frenchtown. Our School ID is 119613 to designate Frenchtown as your school.


Jane Ryan School
The Student Council will be collecting items to be sent to military men and women overseas through the Blue Star Moms in Stratford. A wish list of items needed was included on a flier that went home in backpacks last week. Donations can be dropped off in any classroom beginning October 21 through November 11. If any family has a loved one currently serving, a care package can be sent can be sent to him/her if you provide the school with an address. Please contact Mrs. DeCesare or Mrs. Ferrari for more information.

Kids Offering Our Love (KOOL) will be making cards to give thanks to our veterans on Friday, Nov. 6 in the Jane Ryan cafeteria from dismissal to 4:15 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help chaperone. Children must be pre-registered to participate in this event. Please send a note to your child’s teacher and TLC letting them know they will be staying after school. K-2 will be escorted from their classrooms.  Children should be signed out at 4:15 p.m. Any questions, please contact Anne Marie Martini.

The Jane Ryan Veterans Day concert will be on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. If any Jane Ryan student, faculty or staff member has a veteran or soldier in their family, they are invited to send in copies of photos. There will be a special wall of pictures honoring the veterans, including those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Pictures of veterans and/or soldiers in uniform (but not required) should be sent to Mrs. Olya Fry, Jane Ryan’s music teacher, but photos can also be emailed to fryzo@trumbulps.org. Fliers came home in the children’s backpacks.

The Jane Ryan Cookie Dough fundraising runs from Monday, Nov. 2-13. Children are encouraged to show the cookie sheet to their family and friends, but not to sell door to door. Checks should be make payable to Jane Ryan School.

Jane Ryan PTA Directory and Membership registration system is now open to accept registrations for the 2015-16 school year. Enrollment has been extended to October 16. Your family will not be in the directory unless you provide the necessary information by going to http://bit.ly/1plBvWX. The form is organized in sections. Click on the header(s) in the form to view and make any necessary changes. You will be able to join the JR PTA with secure online payment via PayPal or credit card. Jane Ryan PTA Membership is $10 per family ($7 for staff/faculty), plus an additional $2 for a printed copy of the Jane Ryan Directory. Please direct any questions to Dawn Tamorria or Lisa Lobuono.

Juice box collection is underway. Each classroom has a basket for collection. Baskets are emptied periodically. The main recycling bin is located in the cafeteria so students can place juice pouches in from their lunches.
