iPad CartooningHave fun, laugh, express creativity, and pick up some new skills too. Create incredible 3-D digital drawings, funny comic strips and cartoon video. Learn how to draw your own cartoon characters and backgrounds using iPad art applications that have layers so you can also trace, use green screen and 3D effects. Utilize “app smashing” techniques by combining your artwork, clip art, and/or morphed photos into a comic strip application or comic ibook. Produce a cartoon video that can be uploaded to YouTube. Plus customize an avatar that has several different moves, like dancing Hip Hop, Macarena and more. Could use the avatar to tell a joke or star in your music cartoon video. iPads are provided. July 20-24 or Aug. 17-21; 9 a.m.-noon; ages 8-14; $180/child.

ArtSmart! Explorers-Masterpieces and Mother Nature Designed for older children/tweens, this week focuses on masterworks inspired by design found in the natural world ... allowing for personal interpretation, response and expression. Projects include watercolor, acrylic and oil painting on canvas, block prints, mixed media sculpture, sumi-E botanical, and the ever-popular action painting. Aug. 3-7; 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; ages: 8-14; $215/child.
