The Fairfield County Gaelic American Club is offering the 10th lecture in a series on Irish History on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 2-4 p.m., at the Gaelic American Club, 74 Beach Road, Fairfield.

Charity and the Great Hunger in Ireland

The extent to which people throughout the world mobilized to provide money, food and clothing to assist the starving Irish. The lecture is presented by Dr. Christine Kinealy, Quinnipiac University.

Dr. Kinealy is a world-renowned Irish Famine expert and Director of the Great Hunger Institute at Quinnipiac.
