The much-anticipated Trumbull High School production of RENT: School Edition, will take the stage on Thursday, March 27 through Sunday, March 30. More than 75 Trumbull High School students in the cast and crew are hard at work to bring the Pulitzer Prize winning musical to life on the THS stage.

In addition to rehearsals Monday through Friday, students in the production are involved in intensive research and discussion about the current day issues broached in the script, such as poverty, homelessness, gentrification and HIV/AIDS awareness. A living museum and teaching/outreach display will be open to audiences in the lobby each night before the show. Several community outreach activities for the cast and crew are also planned, including food drives and fund-raising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Trumbull High School’s production of RENT: School Edition is being put on by the school’s THeSpian Society. The award-winning troupe of singers, dancers, actors and student designers and production staff has been recognized for its past productions by the Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards program.
