Lucy Margaret Abbott and Susan Nicole Pawlishen were married Saturday Oct. 8, by Universal Life Church Wedding Celebrant Brianna Sloane at the Amherst Woman's Club in Amherst, Mass.

Lucy is a daughter of Dolores and Tony Abbott of Trumbull. She is education coordinator in Amherst, Mass., for the Emily Dickinson Museum. She graduated from Trumbull High School and Mount Holyoke College, where she received a bachelor's degree in English and Art History. Lucy is one of the organizers of the annual Amherst Poetry Festival. Lucy's father is the author of books for young readers. Her mother is a copywriter and editor.

Susan is a daughter of Jane and Michael Pawlishen of South Hadley, Mass. Susan graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, and received a masters of computer and information science from General Electric's Digital Technology Leadership Program. She is Global Program Manager of Collaboration for General Electric Corporation. In addition, she and Lucy own and operate Susan Nicole Photography.

Susan's mother is a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Baystate Hospital in Springfield, Mass. Her father owns and operates MAR Auto, an auto mechanic shop in Chicopee, Mass. Susan's parents also own and operate Hill Top Farm in South Hadley, where they produce annual flowers and plants for local farmers markets.

The couple will reside in South Hadley, Mass., on the Connecticut River. They plan to honeymoon in Hawaii in January.
