Assumption College — Megan Wyckoff, class of 2017, has become a member of the Human Services National Honor Society, Tau Upsilon Alpha.
Eastern Connecticut State University — More than 250 students presented research and creative work at the university's second annual Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern (CREATE) conference last month. CREATE is the university's premier, academic year-end showcase. At the culminating event, students of all majors presented professional posters, live music, dance performances, artwork, photography, documentaries and panel discussions. Caitlyn Longwell, class of 2017, who majors in Biochemistry, presented a research poster at the event. Longwell's poster presentation, co-presented Effect of Insecticide Treatment on Resistance Mechanisms in Pachysandra.
Tyler Heche, class of 2017, was inducted into Political Science Honor Society; majoring in Political Science.
Erica Andrasi, class of 2016, was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the international honor society for English; majoring in English.
Sacred Heart Academy — Sacred Heart Academy students have attained national recognition on the 2016 National French Exam/Le Grand Concours, an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students were evaluated for their written, oral, and listening comprehension in French. More than 85,000 students in all 50 states competed in the 2016 event. The following student from Trumbull was recognized for their achievement: Level 3 Silver Medal 3A, Eunji Lee.
