Booth Hill School students and teachers learned in an assembly recently that they will all be reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle, by Beverly Cleary this month. Teachers put on a play for students recounting the beginning of the book, when an adventurous mouse named Ralph decides to ride a toy motorcycle. Students cheered when third grade teacher Tammy Baillargeon, dressed as Ralph, got on a real motorcycle, pretending to ride it and falling off and landing in a garbage can. “It was really exciting to do because I love building school spirit and making learning fun,” she says. Third grader Ellen Matzke says, “I can’t wait to read it! It seems like such a great story!”
