Spaghetti supper and free concert
This month the Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main Street (route 111), spaghetti supper and free concert series will take place on Saturday, April 16. It's a night of humor and harmonious vocals as the Yale Spizzwinks perform at 7 p.m. Arrive early to find parking. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, beverages and dessert beginning at 5:30 p.m., for $12, with discounts for seniors and children. Meatballs are $.50 each. Women's Fellowship luncheon
On Thursday, April 21 at noon, the Women's Fellowship of Unity Hill United Church of Christ will hold their monthly meeting and luncheon at the church, 364 White Plains Road. The program will feature The Benefits of Tea, with Betty Johnson of Bigelow Tea. Hostesses are Marie Seavey and Dorothy Vars. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish or pay $7 at the door. Family coloring event

Post-Mardi Gras Fun Night
Performing at Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension’s Agahigian-Sherinian Church Hall, 1460 Huntington Tpke., on Saturday, April 23, at 6 p.m., will be a host of New York City talent: The comedy team of The Three Stooges (impersonators), and as seen on the Conan O’Brien Show; Hye belly dancer Anna Pipoyan (as seen on America’s Got Talent; trumpeteer extraordinaire Ego, plus our own Chauncey Street Blues band, featuring Charlie, John and Peter Kuroghlian who will provide music. Although this is a BYOB event, we will be offering Cajun cuisine, burgers, wieners, and soft beverages for sale. General admission is $20; under 18 free. The event is one of a few events coming up to celebrate the church’s 85th anniversary. 60th anniversary
St. Theresa School celebrates its 60th anniversary with dinner, dancing and a silent auction on Saturday, April 30, at Tashua Knolls Restaurant, beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will begin with a reception followed by dinner and culminating with a silent auction. The evening event is a fund-raiser to help St. Theresa School fulfill its mission. Area church aims for global impact
This month, Long Hill Baptist Church, 100 Middlebrooks Ave., is celebrating the congregation's 59th anniversary in Trumbull. Despite it's smaller size, the church supports 10 missionary families that are establishing new churches in the U.S., as well as countries including Canada, England, Kenya, Ghana (West Africa), and the Philippines. For Hammond, an important part of that effort is getting the Bible into the hands of people who desire to read it. "We're partnering with a ministry called Northeast Baptist Seedline to assemble and distribute portions of the Bible to people around the world," explains Hammond. "Last fall, our members assembled five thousand scriptures for distribution both here in the area as well as in the Philippines."

Lunch ‘n Lecture
Need help with retirement? On Wednesday, May 11, two speakers from Wesley Village in Shelton, will offer some suggestions. Tag sale
Christ the King Church at 4700 Madison Ave., is having a tag sale on Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15, in the parish hall downstairs. Hours for the sale are 9 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday and after all masses on Sunday. Parishioners are asked to donate items for the sale, but no books or clothing, please. Items can be dropped off from Monday, May 2-Thursday, May 5, or Monday, May 9-Friday, May 13, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., both weeks. Volunteers are needed for the drop-off periods and the tag sale itself. 7th and 8th graders can volunteer to work at the tag sale and receive credit toward their required service hours. Kids Club
Children in grades K-6 are invited to enroll in a new Wednesday-night Kids Club at Long Hill Baptist Church, 100 Middlebrook Ave., (near Middlebook Elementary School), from 7-8:30 p.m. Each meeting will feature games, singing and a Bible study. There is no cost to attend.
Parents are invited to join an adult Bible Study, which also meets on Wednesday evenings at 7.
