World Community Day

On Friday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., World Community Day will be celebrated by Church Women United of Greater Bridgeport at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road. Those attending are asked to bring a sandwich. For information, call 203-372-8844.

Spaghetti/meatball dinner and free concert

There’s a fun family night of food and folk music planned for you this month at Trumbull’s Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main St., (Route 111), on Saturday, Nov. 15. The monthly spaghetti and meatball dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. It will be followed by a free concert. This month we’re featuring folk singer Heather Fay.

Vendor fair

The Women of St. Stephens will be holding a vendor fair at St. Stephens Church 6948 Main St., on Saturday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 16, after the morning masses. For more information, contact Deb Heim at 203-268-1072.

Judaic & Secular Book Fair

B’nai Torah Nursery School, 5700 Main St., is sponsoring a Judaic & Secular Book Fair from Nov. 18-23, with books for all ages: preschool through adult. Book fair hours are Tuesday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, Nov 21, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Great books for holiday gifts will be available. Women’s Fellowship Luncheon

On Thursday, Nov. 20, at noon, the Women’s Fellowship of Unity Hill United Church of Christ will host their monthly luncheon at the church at 364 White Plains Road. You are invited to paint a ceramic decoration for Thanksgiving with Dawn Brezina. Cost for the ceramics is $6. Bring your favorite covered dish to share or pay $7 at the door for lunch. Hostesses are Carole Fanslow and Rose Vars, with devotions led by the Pastor, the Rev. M. Todd Shipley. For reservations, call the church at 203-374-8822.

Fall dinner/Bingo night

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, will be holding a Fall dinner/Bingo night on Saturday, Nov. 22, with dinner beginning at 6 p.m., and Bingo at 7:15. Cost is $15 per person and includes dinner (1/2 chicken, rice pilaf, green bean casserole, pineapple upside down cake, and beverages), and Bingo cards for all 12 regular games. Thanksgiving week services

Members of the community are invited attend special Thanksgiving week services at Long Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, Nov. 23 through Thursday, Nov. 27. Evangelist Dr. Gary Gillmore of South Bend, Indiana will speak nightly at 7 p.m. Services will feature hymn-singing, special music and preaching.

A Thanksgiving morning service will be held at 10 a.m.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, Gillmore will also speak during the church’s regular services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Holiday shopping night

St. Catherine of Siena Church will hold a holiday shopping night at the Parish Center, 210 Shelton Road, in Trumbull on Friday, Dec. 5, from 6:30-9 p.m.
