C.A.R.E.S. Group
Last month, proactive community members helped to organize the first parent/caregiver support group in Trumbull as a means to offer education, support, resources, and hope to those whose children of any age are using or abusing substances: The C.A.R.E.S. Group-Trumbull.

If you are suffering, or know anyone whose child is afflicted, you are invited to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Turnpike, in Trumbull, on Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 7-9 p.m.

Vacation Bible School
Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2975 Nichols Ave. (between highways 15 and 8; across the street from City Line Florist), invites the children of the community to its “International Spy Academy ... where kids investigate and discover the truth about God” Vacation Bible School program which will meet daily, Monday-Friday, Aug. 10-14, from 9:30 a.m.-noon. Children ages 4 through 11 will participate in activities involving "cracking codes and uncovering clues,” Bible stories, uplifting music, indoor and outdoor games, fun crafts and snacks. Shabbat open house services
Congregation B’nai Torah, at 5700 Main St., will be having Shabbat open house services for prospective new members on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22, and on Friday, Sept. 4.

The Friday services will begin at 7:30 p.m., with an Oneg Shabbat following. Saturday service will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a kiddush following. Children are welcome.

Services are led by Rabbi Colin Brodie. Eexperience their growing egalitarian congregation where everyone has the opportunity to be involved. There will also be an opportunity to learn about their two day a week Talmud Torah with small class sizes and personal attention, nursery school, synagogue community involvement, adult education and social action activities. Membership includes High Holiday tickets.
