Mah Jongg Tournament

Congregation B’nai Torah, 5700 Main Street in Trumbull is sponsoring a Mah Jongg Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 12. Five rounds, prizes galore. Breakfast and lunch provided. Entry fee: $40. Covered dish luncheon

On Thursday, Oct. 16, at noon, the Women’s Fellowship of Unity Hill United Church of Christ will hold their fall covered dish luncheon at the church, 364 White Plains Road. Guest speaker will be Debra Greenwood, President and CEO of The Center for Family Justice. Cost is $7 or bring your favorite covered dish to share. Spaghetti dinner and free concert

The October edition of Long Hill United Methodist Church's free concert series on Saturday, Oct. 18, will feature noted jazz pianist Dr. Joe Utterback, who has played with all of the greats of the jazz world. The 7 p.m. concert will immediately follow the church's renowned spaghetti and meatball dinner. The dinner, which includes salad, bread, beverages and dessert, costs $12 and begins at 5:30 p.m.

Halloween Music Extravaganza

13th annual Pipescreams Halloween Music Extravaganza will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m., at United Congregational Church, 877 Park Ave., Bridgeport. One of the most anticipated Halloween musical extravaganzas in the region. A concert of Halloween-themed and Broadway musical pieces featuring five choral groups of more than 200 singers, musicians, a 1920’s silent film, costume contest with prizes for best costumes and a reception.

Featuring the choruses of Sacred Heart University and the University of Bridgeport, as well as the Norma Pfriem Children’s Choir. Musicians include Krista Adams-Santilli of Trumbull.

Church Bazaar

St. George Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St., Trumbull, is hosting it’s annual Church Bazaar, on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The event features ethnic dishes, home baked goods, Arts and Crafts, Attic Treasures, and Chinese Auction raffle. Take-out food as well as free parking available.

Roast pork dinner with potato pancakes

The Altar Guild of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, will be holding their roast pork dinner on Saturday, Nov. 1, starting at 6 p.m. Menu is roast pork and gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, bread and butter, dessert, coffee and tea. Tickets: $15 for adults; $8 for children under 10. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for Light on the Hill Food Pantry. Partial proceeds from the dinner will also be used to purchase food items for Light on the Hill Food Pantry. Reservations are required. Tickets must be paid for and picked up in advance. TOPS now in Trumbull

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a non-profit organization, has a new chapter in Trumbull. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Tpke., next door to Fairchild Nichols Memorial Library.

Membership is $28 per year which includes a monthly magazine; weekly dues are $2.
