Spaghetti dinner/concert
The Long Hill United Methodist church's spaghetti dinner/concert series will feature the award-winning Redhot and Blue of Yale.
Thirty-eight years ago, recent Yale graduated members of the Whiffenpoofs met up with members of the new Yale women's acapella groups to form Redhot and Blue. The focus was to go back to the classic jazz roots of Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Now, the coed jazz singers have expanded their show to include, "Jazz, Broadway, Beatles and Brittney Spears." They will perform a free concert on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., in the sanctuary of Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main St., (Route 111).
Before the concert is the spaghetti and meatball supper. It includes salad, bread, beverages and dessert and costs $12, $11 for seniors and $6 for children. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m.
