Unity Hill United Church of Christ

Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church

Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2975 Nichols Ave., (across from City Line Florist), invites members of the community to its Holy Week worship services and activities. The special Good Friday Tenebrae Service at 7 p.m., emphasizes personal meditation as each worshipper contemplates the meaning of sin, the destructive nature of sin, the need for a personal Savior and the horrific punishment for our sin that Jesus took upon himself. There will be Bible readings, hymns and meditative prayers that focus on the words Jesus spoke from the cross. The “rest of Good Friday’s story” is told at the 9:30 a.m., Easter Festival Worship service. The theme will be: “ ... All Because of Jesus.” All are invited to Easter breakfast which will be served beginning at 8 a.m.

Living cross

Trumbull Congregational Church, 3115 Reservoir Ave., will decorate a ‘living cross’ on Easter Sunday, filled with flowers to celebrate the Easter season. Flowers are placed in memory or honor of loved ones and will be on display until Tuesday, April 2.
