Spring tag sale

The spring tag sale at Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main St., (next to Corner Deli), is set for Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The tag sale includes used clothing, housewares, music, games, books, holiday decorations and more. Book sale

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, will hold a book sale on Friday, May 3, noon-7 p.m., and Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds from the book sale will help support Holy Trinity’s Stephen Ministry Program. Contact Bob at 203-372-6809 for more information.

Peaceful parenting in a noisy world

Join a group of parents who want to pass the peace to their children and build a thoughtful spiritual foundation under their lives together as families. Parenting is not easy in any era, but this group wants to take a look at the particular challenges of our times. Parents of children of all ages are invited. The topic of the first meeting will be “Parental Self Care.” The group plans to meet the first Saturday of the month at noon, beginning on May 4. Rev. Elsa Worth, mother of three, will be on hand to facilitate. The group will meet in the Lewis Hall Meeting Room at Grace Episcopal Church, 5958 Main St. Bring your own bag lunch and beverage. A Taste of Slovakia dinner

The Altar Guild of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, Trumbull, are sponsoring A Taste of Slovakia dinner on Saturday, May 18, at 6 p.m. Menu consists of all you can eat homemade Slovak food including kielbasa and sauerkraut, potato pancakes, pierogi, potato haluski and cabbage, coffee, tea, and dessert.
