Seeking vendors for Apple Festival

The annual Apple Festival at Christ Church, located at 5170 Madison Ave., will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. It will feature the church’s famous homemade apple pies, baked goods, candy and caramel apples. There will also be a variety of crafters, a Kid’s Zone with bounce houses, face painting, games and children’s crafts.

Mums will be sold, along with locally grown apples and cider from the fall harvest; pumpkins, gourds, squashes, six varieties of apples, Indian corn, and fall decor.

Free admission. Money raised from the fair will help support the outreach of the church to our local community food banks and shelters and completion of the interior of the parish hall.

Fall Festival

The Blessed Lambs Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Blessed Assurance Prayer Community, 175 White Plains Road. Food, fun for all ages; Moonbounce, games, prizes, crafts. For more information, call 203-371-8265.

Mah Jongg Tournament — Congregation B’nai Torah, 5700 Main Street in Trumbull is sponsoring a Mah Jongg Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 13. Five rounds, prizes galore. Breakfast and lunch provided. Shoshannah Nambi, a young leader and activist from Uganda’s Abayudaya Jewish community of Mbale, Uganda, will be visiting Congregation B’nai Torah on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m., as part of the first women’s speaking tour from that country. Her trip is being sponsored by Kulanu, Inc., a grassroots, not-for-profit Jewish organization supporting isolated and emerging Jewish communities worldwide. Visit for more information. Art auction and beer and wine tasting — Sponsored by Congregation B’nai Torah, 5700 Main St., on Sunday, Nov. 17. The professional auction company, Marlin Art will conduct the event with a preview at 6:30 p.m. The Beer and Wine Tasting, provided by Town Line, 345 Hawley Lane in Stratford, will also begin at 6:30 p.m., as will numerous raffles. A live auction will follow at 7:30, featuring art in all media and price ranges. Major credit cards accepted for purchases. Admission is $10 /$18 for two and includes refreshments, dessert and coffee. Each ticket purchased in advance will also receive two free raffle tickets.
