The Mishkan Israel Day Camp will once again light a Menorah in celebration of the Chanukah holiday in Trumbull Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. in front of Trumbull Town Hall. This year marks the 29th year that Mishkan has been lighting the Menorah in Fairfield, the 33rd in Easton and Trumbull, the seventh annual in Monroe, the second annual in Stratford, and the 73rd year of serving the entire Fairfield County region by providing vital programs and assistance to those in need. This yearly event is held in conjunction with the holiday of Chanukah to facilitate an awareness of this joyous holiday.

These annual events are honored by distinguished attendees, including honorable officials from Fairfield, Easton, Trumbull and Monroe, in addition to the chief’s of the police and fire departments of these towns, as well as many other town officers and dignitaries. They are also expecting representation of the State Police Department.

Mishkan Israel Day Camp began in Bridgeport, CT in 1945 by Rabbi and Mrs. Israel Stock — emissaries of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchock Schneersohn of blessed memory. In 1975, it branched out to include Stamford and the surrounding communities of Fairfield County.

Events are open to the public, and are free-of-charge. Refreshments will be served, musical entertainment, special children’s program, for the entire family.
