Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 466 Elm St., in Monroe, will present a benefit concert on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Matt Johnson, tenor and Catherine McElaney, soprano, will sing selections from Broadway.

Johnson, a Trumbull High School graduate, lead actor in several Trumbull High School plays, local theater and Trumbull Youth Association (TYA) productions, has also performed operatic roles in Lenox, Mass., WConn productions and just did an operatic role in Peter Grimes at The Barn in Madison.

Catherine McElaney, is a Stratford resident and performed in productions in the Hartford area. She performed the lead in Annie and The Secret Garden for Manchester Musical Players, sang background for a Nickelodeon commercial and is currently a student at Montclair State in Theater Arts.

They are under the direction of Victor Johnson, organist and choir director of Good Shepherd. He is also a Trumbull resident.

The concert will be a free will donation and light refreshments will follow.
