Voter turnout at 43% in Trumbull at 7 p.m. (UPDATE)

UPDATE — As of 7 p.m., 10,031 ballots have been filled out and counted — 43% voter turnout.

Voter turnout was at 27% at about 3 p.m. on this Nov. 3 Election Day, according to the Trumbull Registrar of Voters office.

Trumbull voters today had, or will have, a chance to cast their ballots for representatives in municipal races, including Board of Finance, Board of Education and Town Council.

At the top of the ticket, incumbent First Selectman Tim Herbst battles Democratic challenger Vicki Tesoro.

Suzanne Burr Monaco, the current Town Clerk and a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Cindy Katske. In the treasurer's race, incumbent John Ponzio is squaring off against Anthony Musto.

So far, 6,400 ballots have been cast.

Polls close at 8 p.m.
