State representatives Dave Rutigliano (R-123rd), Laura Devlin (R-134th) and Ben McGorty (R-122nd) have received their legislative committee assignments and House leadership roles from GOP Themis Klarides. The new session opens January 9.

Rutigliano has been re-appointed as a Republican Whip. This is in addition to his assignment as a member of the General Law, Labor and Public Employees, Regulations Review and the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding committees.

Devlin will lead the Republican caucus as the ranking member of the Transportation Committee for the next two years. The committee is expected to be in the news with the issue of tolls on the forefront of the next year’s agenda.

Additionally, Devlin will serve as a member of the Education Committee which has oversight of the Department of Education, local and regional boards of education and the collective bargaining of school employees.

McGorty also was appointed an assistant House Republican leader. He has been assigned to the Judiciary Committee and will also serve as a member of the Environment and Transportation committees.
