UPDATED: The mock car crash was cancelled Tuesday, due to weather.
School administrators say they will not be able to reschedule the demonstrations.
Original story: Trumbull High School will put on a mock car crash demonstration for the senior class on Tuesday, May 19 on school grounds.
The mock crash will be held between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
According to Trumbull High, the objective is to instill appropriate decision-making while driving. A representative from the Trumbull Police will narrate the simulation, so students understand what happens when a real car accident occurs. Four Trumbull High student actors will participate in the simulation, reenacting a prom night accident. Additionally, two teachers will play the distraught parents.
The scene will be managed by the Trumbull Center Fire Department, Trumbull EMS, and the Trumbull Police.
This is a preventative endeavor that will hopefully make a lasting impression on our senior class and allow for them to make proper decisions when behind the wheel of a vehicle.
