Trumbull woman charged in motorcyclist's death

An 88-year-old Trumbull woman has been charged with the negligent homicide of a motorcyclist she allegedly hit with her car in September.

Ruth Tabor, of 6454 Main St., was charged by Trumbull Police Jan. 9 with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to grant the right of way to 48 year-old Daniel Rueda, who was riding his motorcycle on Church Hill Road around 10 a.m. Sept. 14.

Police said Tabor, driving a 2013 Honda Civic, was turning left onto Quality Street from the northbound lane of Church Hill Road. Rueda, also a town resident, was coming from the opposite direction and was hit as Tabor was turning.

Rueda was not wearing a helmet, police said.

Police said at the time of the fatal accident that charges were pending following the completion of the investigation.

Tabor was released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 23.
