A 24-year-old Trumbull man was struck by a vehicle and killed early Sunday morning on Bridgeport Avenue in Milford.

Milford fire officials report that the accident happened on Bridgeport Avenue near Berwyn Street around 2 a.m. Sunday, March 6.

The man was reportedly crossing the street with a friend when he was hit, officials said. Milford Fire Department paramedics and EMTs provided advanced level care in an effort to save the severely injured person.

“The patient was rapidly transported to Bridgeport Hospital under the care of Milford Fire Paramedics and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries,” said Fire Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi.

The second pedestrian was not reported to be injured. No information has been released about the driver of the vehicle.

Milford police have not confirmed the identity of the victim.

According to a source close to the family, the victim was getting food at the Bridgeport Flyer Diner before he was struck.
