Trumbull man still missing

UPDATE Wednesday, Dec. 3: Police say the investigation is still active and police are looking into recent activity on one of Gary Hubina's accounts.

Original story: Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing 60 year-old Trumbull man.

Gary Hubina has been missing since Saturday. He is described as white, bald with blue eyes, and about 6'1" and 150 pounds.

On Monday, police said they were still searching for Hubina and have received some phone calls from people who had seen him recently. Soon after he was reported missing a tracking dog was brought in to try to pick up Hubina's scent in an area he was recently spotted, but nothing has turned up.

He was last seen wearing a dark gray wool coat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Trumbull Police Department at 203-261-3665.

The Silver Alert system applies to any missing person age 18 years or older who has a mental impairment or is 65 years of age or older, according to the state. Both Amber Alert and Silver Alert systems create an emergency notification system for law enforcement agencies to broadcast local, regional or statewide public alerts via radio, television and electronic methods. The Silver Alert system mandates that law enforcement immediately begin searching for missing individuals who are ages 65 or older, or ages 18 and over if mentally impaired.
