Trumbull continues to fight back against the rise of substance abuse and addiction — one community event at a time.
The town’s latest push to stomp out drug abuse and spread information to concerned residents will be held at the McClinch Family Center inside St. Catherine of Siena Parish from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 26.
The event, titled Trumbull Shares: A Panel Presentation on Substance Abuse, will include a resource fair that begins at 6:30 p.m. that will be followed by a discussion from 7 to 9 p.m.
Trumbull Police Chief Michael Lombardo will present along with Melissa McGarry of Trumbull Partnership Against Underage Drinking and Drugs (TPAUD).
Other speakers will include John Hamilton, an addiction specialist from Recovery Network Programs, and Donna DeLuca from Community, Addiction, Recovery, Education, and Support (CARES).
A surviving Trumbull parent and a young Trumbull adult who’s in recovery are also expected to speak.
The forum, which will provide residents with information about substance abuse and go over local data, will answer questions about how and where to access help.
The church is located at 210 Shelton Road.
