Volunteer fire crews from Nichols, Trumbull Center and Long Hill responded to a reported structure fire on Southgate Road on Saturday afternoon, extinguishing flames inside and outside the home.

According to Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company's Facebook page, the joint effort included members of the Trumbull Police Department and Trumbull EMS.

No injuries were reported.

The fire company said that the police were the first on the scene, and reported smoke showing.

"First arriving units Nichols Car 3 and 303 confirmed smoke showing," the Facebook post said. "303 made an interior fire attack assisted by second arriving unit, TC 103. 301 took the hydrant. Interior reported smoke and fire in back room.

"Units made a quick stop with minor extension," the post added. "Other units on scene TC102, LH204, LH209, N304 and various Chiefs."

The fire is under investigation by Trumbull Fire Marshals office.
