Teen missing since September returns home

A Trumbull teen, reported missing on Sept. 20, has returned home, according to police.

Carolyn Lindsey, 16, was believed to have gone to New York City to see her boyfriend, Sam Foley, also 16, of Clinton, according to police. Both were students at Grove School in Madison.

Trumbull police said they were contacted on Jan. 2 by Carolyn's father, Charley Lindsey, who told police his daughter had come home. Police said they confirmed this report and canceled the missing persons notice.

According to other media reports, Sam and Carolyn were both located in Philadelphia, Penn.

Sam Foley disappeared in August but was reportedly captured on surveillance at a train station in New York. Silver Alerts were issued for both teens. Police said Carolyn had left home without important medications.

The case received national attention when it was discussed on the television shows Nancy Grace and The View.
