The Trumbull Police Department said that a Bridgeport man was arrested Friday, April 22, in connection with an employee theft ring that happened at the Home Depot on Monroe Turnpike between January and October of last year.

Dubois Smith, 51, of Bridgeport was arrested at Trumbull police headquarters around 10 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree.

He is the sixth member of the seven-person scheme to be arrested in Trumbull this month.

Police said an estimated $300,000 worth of merchandise was stolen by the employees, most of which consisted of power tools.

Smith was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Monday, May 9.
