Shoplifters receive lifetime ban from Westfield Trumbull Mall

A pair of shoplifters were arrested for criminal trespassing in the second degree and larceny in the fifth degree at Westfield Trumbull Mall at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Police said Willaneshia Beverly, 25, of Stamford and Dorothy Smith, 25, of Bridgeport each stole more than $500 worth of clothing from Victoria's Secret in the mall and were stopped in the corridor between the lingerie store and JC Penny.

According to a report, Beverly was previously banned for life from the mall for shoplifting in 2011 and Smith had received a two-year ban in April for shoplifting, which triggered the criminal trespassing charges for that violation.

Mall security issued another ban for life for Beverly, and gave Smith the same sentence.

The Trumbull Police Department released the pair on a $1,000 bond. They’re scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, Oct. 28.

According to a report, Smith stole $549 worth of items and Beverly stole $503 worth of items from the store.
