Trumbull, Stratford and Torrington Police officers visited ABC Childcare & Learning Center located at 2740 Broadbridge Ave. in Stratford earlier this month.

Officers from Trumbull included Police Deputy Chief Glenn Byrnes, who is the father of our twin students Raymond and Jillian Byrnes, as well as Trumbull Officers David Skoog, Robert Schwartz and Thomas Richards.

The Trumbull Police Officers also came with their police motorcycles and cruisers.

Officer Schwartz read the book, Officer Buckle and Gloria to the children and discussed safety tips and stranger danger. The children also sat inside the police cruiser with officers and had a hands-on presentation inside the vehicle.

Officer Daniel Cyr another parent of Hunter and Shannon Cyr represented the Torrington Department.

From Stratford Police Department Officers Kevin Albohn, Jim Iannucci, Rachel Crosby and police dog, Bravo were present. Officer Rachel Crosby displayed a search and find exercise with her canine partner Bravo. The children watched in awe at the presentation and learned about the importance and advantages of having a canine officer. She explained how canine officers are used for missing children/adults as well as other purposes. She displayed how obedient and receptive Bravo was to her commands.
