The Trumbull Police Department is investigating a number of daytime burglaries that have been reported over the last month in the Trumbull Center and Nichols area.

According to a press release, the burglaries occur when no one is home at the residences and, in most cases, the home was secure and entry into the home was force.

"The majority of items taken have been electronics and jewelry," said Detective Sergeant Kenneth Jones in the release Friday.

Police are recommending residents lock their homes and secure items of value, such as jewelry.

Sergeant Jones also said that homeowners should be "vigilant in regards to their surroundings."

"Someone or something looks out of place at or near your home or place of business, please contact the Trumbull Police," he added.

The detective bureau continues to work on a number of leads on the burglaries.

If residents have any information on any of the burglaries, please contact Trumbull police at 203-261-365.
