John Daniel Kreuttner, a Trumbull resident and U.S. Marine, died Tuesday in a one-car accident, according to police. See an obituary for Kreuttner here.
He was 24 years old.
Trumbull Police, Fire and EMS responded to a cul de sac on Old Sawmill Road yesterday at around 9 a.m., after receiving multiple calls of a vehicle that struck a large boulder, according to Police Lt. Leonard Scinto.
Kreuttner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle had sustained heavy front end damage and it took several hours to extricate the victim from the vehicle, according to police. The investigation is being conducted by the Trumbull Police Traffic Division assisted by the Detective Bureau as well as traffic division officers from the Monroe Police Department.
Police said Kreuttner often went by his middle name, Dan.
