Police captured an alleged burglar as he was fleeing Westfield Trumbull Wednesday night.

Mall security saw Ismail Padilla, 42, of Bridgeport tampering with a display case at a jewelry kiosk, according to police. Security chased him through the parking lot. He was captured by Trumbull Police officers as he ran to Walnut Street, where he had left his car parked.

He was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, criminal trespass, second degree and sixth-degree larceny.

Padilla posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 3.
