A Bridgeport woman who allegedly used her children, 5 and 11 years-old, to help her hide stolen items from Target and other stores was arrested Monday, Jan. 19.

Target’s Loss Prevention officer contacted police after they spotted a woman who they say was a known shoplifter taking items. When Kishana Laidley, 30, was stopped, police found that 28 items had been stolen and put in a bag her 11 year-old son was holding. Police also find items that had been stolen from Forever 21.

When police contacted the children’s father to pick them up, the father found a pair of pants had been hidden on one of the children, and he told police.

Laidley was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and three counts of sixth degree larceny.

She was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear in court Jan. 28.
