People’s United Bank and the Trumbull Police Department have joined up to inform people on how to avoid common holiday scams.

The public is being invited to the special event, which will be held at People’s United Bank on 100 Hawley Lane from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17. The session is designed to help people identify common scams during the holidays that could lead to financial exploitation, identify theft or other fraudulent activity.

Trumbull Police detectives trained to investigate financial crimes and fraud complaints will be on hand to answer questions.

Light refreshments will be served.
