A 14 year-old teen girl allegedly assaulted a Trumbull officer at Bow Tie Cinemas last Friday night.

Police report that the teen, a Milford resident, punched an officer in the throat when the officer attempted to arrest her for breach of peace.

Cinema staff called police to the Quarry Road theater Jan. 17 around 9:15 p.m. after management reported hearing patrons talking about a fight that was going to happen there.

While monitoring the group of youths who had been talking about the fight, one began shouting obscenities at an officer while in the lobby of the theater. The youth was told to leave, police said, but she walked to the ticket counter and began shouting more obscenities at the manager while demanding her money back. The lobby was crowded with children and other patrons, police said.

The officer then approached the youth and told her she was under arrest, but she allegedly resisted, punching the officer in the throat. After a brief struggle, police took the youth into custody. She was charged with assaulting a police officer, interfering with an officer and breach of peace.
