OLM suffers damages in server room fire
A Trumbull business that provides web hosting services to clients around the globe had to deal with a fire in its server room at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 15.
OLM LLC., which is located at 4 Trefoil Drive, reported the blaze and members of the Long Hill Fire Department arrived at the scene to find the building filled with heavy smoke.
According to Long Hill Deputy Chief Alex Rauso, firefighters found a fire in a server room which burnt itself out.
“The fire crews battled zero visibility while searching the building getting to the fire area,” he said.
“Water leaking into the computer room had gotten into the electrical components which started the fire,” he added. “No other parts of the building had fire damage but a portion of the building had some smoke damage.”
Four fire engines, one ladder truck and one rescue truck responded to the scene as Long Hill received assistance from Trumbull Center and Nichols fire departments.
Rauso told The Times that approximately 30 firefighters were on the scene for two and a half hours.
Long Hill Asst. Chief Jim Sambrook was the Incident Commander
Trumbull Fire Marshal Megan Murphy was on scene and investigated the cause of the fire.
