Motorcyclist killed in crash identified as Trumbull resident

The motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday morning on Church Hill Road and Quality Street has been identified as 48 year-old Daniel Rueda, a Trumbull resident.

Rueda was riding south of Church Hill Road around 10 a.m. Sept 14, when struck by a 88 year-old Trumbull woman driving a 2013 Honda Civic. The driver has been identified as Ruth Tabor, police said.

Tabor was attempting to turn left on Quality Street from the northbound lane of Church Hill Road, when her vehicle struck Rueda’s motorcycle. Rueda was not wearing a helmet at the time, police told The Times.

Charges in the accident are pending and the investigation by the Trumbull Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is open. Monroe Police also assisted with the investigation. Church Hill Road was closed for several hours following the accident Sunday.
