There will be a fund-raiser at the Windmill Restaurant, 400 Hollister Street in Stratford on Sunday May 31, from 3-8 p.m., to support two alumnis of St. Joseph’s High School: Robert Zelle (to benefit his wife Patty) and Dominic Quinto.
Patty Zelle was fighting MDS over the past year and had finally returned home in December, but recently she was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myloid Lukemia). There is also a t-shirt fund-raiser which can be found at bonfirefunds.com/smile4pattyzelle. Robert “BZ” Zelle joined the ranks of the Long Hill Fire Department on Feb. 26, 1973. During his years of active service, he attained the rank of assistant chief as well as president. He is currently a life member of the Long Hill Fire Department. Patty was a member of the Long Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Dominic has been fighting brain and lung cancer, and right now he is trying to get an experimental type of drug that can help kill the cancer.
The cost is $40 for pizza, salad, coffee, tea and soda. There will be music provided by DJ Rob Rossetti. You can also pay $40 at the door.
