Firefighters rescue kitten from storm drain

Trumbull firefighters were called to Wilson Avenue Sunday, after residents heard a meowing sound coming from a storm drain.

Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 reports that six firefighters, with Trumbull Center Rescue 100 and Car 3 responded to investigate.

They found the kitten was in a pipe, connecting two storm drains.

“Firefighters positioned themselves between both ends and used some noise to move the kitten back to the basin, where they were able to quickly grab the kitten,” according to David DeLibro of the Trumbull volunteers.

The owners of the kitten have since contacted Trumbull Animal Control and were to be reunited with their pet on Monday.
