Firefighters rescue cat from burning home

No one was injured in a late afternoon garage fire on Hedgehog Road Monday. According to the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Co. social media, the department, with help from Nichols and Long Hill, were able to contain the fire to the garage.

Trumbull Center got the call just after 4 p.m. The ranch-style house’s attached garage was engulfed in flames. Department officials reported that volunteers searched the house, finding and rescuing a cat. The feline and the firefighter who carried it out were uninjured.

Fire crews remained on the scene for about two hours. The Trumbull Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
