Fire fighters association gives away United Ride proceeds

The Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut hosted its annual United Ride fund distribution party at Vazzy’s in Bridgeport Dec. 8.

This year’s United Ride, which was held Aug. 30 drew the largest tribute to date, raising $33,250 that was given away to more than a dozen local groups, including Police Explorers Trumbull and The United Way of Coastal Fairfield County.

The Uniformed Professional Fire Fighter Emergency Relief Fund and The 100 Club of Connecticut each received a check of $8,500.

Fred Garrity Jr., the UPFFA’s executive director, attended the event with the organization’s president, Peter Carozza, and its executive board member, Steve Michalovic.

They were joined by representatives of the listed participants.
