The Trumbull Police Department’s Detective Bureau is currently investigating the death of a 37-year-old Bridgeport woman, who was found unconscious and unresponsive in a car that was parked at the Westfield Trumbull Mall after 11 p.m. Feb. 26.

Lt. Leonard Scinto said in a press release Wednesday, March 2, that police arrived on the scene after receiving a report of a woman slumped over the center console of a vehicle that was parked the mall’s north lot.

“Responding officers could not detect a pulse and began to perform CPR,” Scinto said.

The release added that Trumbull EMS responded and transported the victim to the emergency room of St. Vincent’s Hospital where she was declared deceased a short time later.  

“There were no signs of foul play and the incident is being investigated as an untimely death,” Scinto said.

He added that no drugs were found on the scene.

The medical examiner's office is investigating the incident and Trumbull police detective are awaiting the results of those tests to determine the cause of death.
