The White Plains Road - Reservoir Avenue area was closed to traffic Friday afternoon after a report of an explosive device on a school bus.
Police said at 3 p.m. the department was contacted by the bus company, reporting a driver had indicated they needed assistance due to an incident on the bus with students on board. Police met the bus at the intersection of White Plains Road and Reservoir Avenue, and the driver told officers he believed there could be an explosive on the bus.
Police evacuated the students and stopped traffic before a State Police dog trained in explosives detection searched the bus but did not find any explosive or any other hazardous item.
Police said they believed this was an isolated incident and there was no danger. The roads have since be reopened. The investigation continues.
