Make-A-Wish Connecticut is looking for passionate people interested in donating their time to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Eighty-two percent of every donation made to Make-A-Wish goes directly into supporting the wishes of children across the state of Connecticut each year.

Each year, Make-A-Wish Connecticut grants approximately150 wishes, and with a limited staff, it would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers in the area. As Make-A-Wish Connecticut constantly strives to further their vision and reach more children, volunteers will be needed for administrative support in the Trumbull office. These volunteer positions available would require a minimum of ten hours each week and candidates should be interested in assisting the Make-A-Wish family for a foreseeable future. Skills in accounting, administration, prior travel agent experience, or a familiarity with basic graphic design would be strong assets to the chapter to meet its current needs. Additionally, a summer or fall internship for college students with a business and accounting focus is available.

Make-A-Wish Connecticut is also always seeking out “Wish Granters” and bilingual volunteers to assist in working directly with wish families throughout the wish granting process.

“We are a small staff, but with a large community of volunteers, we are able to continue to reach more children throughout the state,” said Pam Keough, Chief Operating Officer at Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “As we make every effort to reach more children, we have a growing need for office support and assistance in working on our wish kids' itineraries, travel logistics, and keeping our information and database up to date. Our vision is to grant the wishes of every eligible child in Connecticut, and our volunteers help us each and every day to get closer to achieving it.”

The Make-A-Wish Connecticut office is located on Monroe Turnpike in Trumbull. Apply to volunteer at Make-A-Wish Connecticut today and help change the lives of children who battle life-threatening medical conditions. Because of you, wishes do come true!
