Trumbull resident serves on Hall of Fame Committee
The Wakeman Boys & Girls Club of Bridgeport, is seeking nominations for its “Hall of Fame” and a Trumbull resident is helping.
Trumbull resident Jennifer Stanhewicz Debrosky is a Wakeman Boys & Girls Club alumnus and a member of the Hall of Fame Committee, which is now seeking nominations.
In order to be considered, nominees must a member of the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club “Family” - alumni, volunteers, donors, supporters, staff, etc. ; has become a solid citizen and led a successful professional/personal life; and has given back to the Club or the community (local or otherwise) in some fashion - financially or as volunteer. Nomination forms can be found on the website at www.wakemanclub.org or can be obtained through calling the development office at 203 908 3378.
Debrosky served as one of the Club’s program directors for three years from 1993-1996 and wanted to give back to the organization that served her so well. Debrosky, along with other Hall of Fame Committee members, Kevin Simmons, Dave Blagys, George Martin, Tim Dailey, Jack Donahue, and John O'Donnell, are currently planning its inaugural event to be held at the Southport Clubhouse in October 2013. Dr. Robert Tremaglio, principal of Trumbull High School is an honorary trustee of the club. Dr. Tremaglio served on the Wakeman Board since 1982 and was Board President from 1992-2002
“Through its 100-year history, Wakeman has been fortunate to be the beneficiary of countless leaders, mentors, educators, benefactors and friends,” Tremaglio said. “We feel it is time to recognize some of these folks for all that they gave to make Wakeman what it is today.”
