Joanna M. Leone, Trumbull author of Slices of Life Italian-American Stories has scheduled several upcoming events in the area.

• Leone will be a guest speaker at the Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven Saturday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.

• Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Leone will participate in UNICO's Italian Heritage Night, located at 175 Union St. in Waterbury. Her book will be on display during the event while she socializes with guests. UNICO’s event is free and open to the public for anyone who wishes to attend. There will be food samples, free demonstrations about wine making, etc.

• On Friday, Nov. 1, the author will be a guest speaker at the Stamford Senior Center, during their Italian Celebration. The event is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. She will focus on holiday and travel stories. The event is free and open to the public.

• Wednesday, Nov. 13 she will be a guest speaker during Sacred Heart University’s 50th anniversary celebration. Leone’s lecture about the collective memoirs contained in her book will be sponsored by the Alumni Relations Department and the Italian Club. The event is free and open to the public.
